Winner of multiple Emmy Awards, Raul de Molina entertains and informs viewers every weekday on his show “El Gordo y la Flaca” – the #1 entertainment news show in the Hispanic market. The Univision show, which has been on the air for almost two decades, exceeds viewer ratings over ABC, CBS, NBC, and FOX combined, for its scheduled time slot.

Raul de Molina was born in Cuba but left at the age of 10. For the following years he grew up in Madrid, Spain and eventually arrived in the United States at the age of 16.
After graduating from the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale, Raul worked for the Associated Press as a freelance photographer during the 1980s. He published his first book in 2003, which featured exclusive photos of major celebrities he had taken on numerous trips around the world. His photos have also been published in major media outlets such as Time Magazine, Newsweek, Life, Hello, The National Enquirer, and Paris Match. He transitioned to television and has hosted and reported for well-known programs such as “Primer Impacto,” “Ocurrio así,” “Hola América,” “Club Telemundo,” as well as primetime specials and his #1 show, “El Gordo y la Flaca.”
In 2008, he launched his book “La Dieta del Gordo,” with Random House, and it became a best seller immediately after publishing. Throughout the years, Raul has been the top host of red carpet specials for Univision’s major events such as Premio Lo Nuestro and The Latin GRAMMY Awards. He also rings in the New Year with his annual show live from Times Square and has covered the Royal Wedding live from London.

In 2008, he was named one of the most influential Hispanics in the United States by People en Español magazine. His influence has crossed over into the English market, as he has participated as a judge on Iron Chef America and for the Miss America 2012 pageant alongside Kris Jenner. Raul is an avid art collector and serves on Art Basel’s host committee. His annual party is regarded as the unofficial “kick-off” event of the exhibition show.

His long and productive career in the entertainment business has made him a favorite to audiences; because of this, Raul de Molina has earned numerous awards in his career. In 2009, Raul received his own star on the Las Vegas Walk of Stars. His talent continues to be recognized as in 2015 he won the TVyNovelas Award for “Best Host” and in 2016 he is nominated for another Daytime Emmy in the category, “Outstanding Talent in a Spanish Program.”
