Actress, host, philanthropist, and businesswoman, Giselle Blondet has become one of the most internationally recognized and admired Hispanic leaders. There’s no slowing down this Puerto Rican entertainer who also served as host of Telemundo’s hit reality show, “Gran Hermano.”
Giselle Blondet is known for having hosted the Network’s hit beauty reality competition “Nuestra Belleza Latina” for seven seasons, helping to guide young Hispanic women on their quest to realize their dreams. Prior to “Nuestra Belleza Latina,” Giselle served as co-host of “Despierta América,” Univision’s top morning news and entertainment program. For years, she had also served as co-host to Univision’s star-studded red carpet events like the Latin GRAMMY Awards and Premio Lo Nuestro. Giselle Blondet also participated in “Historias Para Contar,” a 60-minute program where she conducted exclusive interviews with big celebrities from the Latin entertainment industry, including Juanes, Vicente Fernandez, and Thalia. Since she began her career at age 14, Giselle participated in several telenovelas, radio shows, films, and TV shows in Puerto Rico where she became known as one of the most respected television personalities of the island.
Giselle has participated in more than 22 telenovelas, making history with “Morelia,” “Pasión de Vivir,” “Pacto de Amor,” and “Mujeres Asesinas.” She has also participated in significant theater productions such as “La Verdadera Historia,” “Pre- lude to a Kiss,” and “Barefoot in the Park.” In addition to this, she acted in the movies, “Virtually Yours” and “Fe-liz Navidad.” As an icon and role model for many women, Giselle has been honored numerous times for Best Television Host and Best Actress, winning many awards given by Agueybaná, Cemi, Premio ACE, Comité Noviembre and was awarded the “Hispanic Leadership Excellence Award in Entertainment,” by the 100 Hispanic Women organization. Giselle was also a keynote speaker at the Siempre Mujer Magazine’s “Celebrando Latinas Conference 2014” in San Diego, CA. She is the founder of the charitable organization “Arte Por La Paz,” whose mission is to support children and young adults with talent in the arts, and invest in successful educational programs. Giselle is active in many charitable endeavors including serving on the committees of the American Red Cross and St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital. She also volunteers for the America Developing Smiles Organization and the NAAR, an organization dedicated to helping autistic children and their families. Additionally, she is the Godmother of the San Jorge Hospital in Puerto Rico. Giselle Blondet was among the Latin celebrities invited to the White House for a conversation with members of Congress, and also hosted the Hispanic Heritage Awards in Washington, D.C.
She has participated in campaigns for brands such as Got Milk?, Dove, K-Mart, Minute Maid. She has also appeared on the covers of various magazines including Cosmopolitan, Vanidades, Harper’s Bazaar, Glamour, Buenhogar, Caras, Selecta, and People en Español. In addition, Giselle is the author of an inspirational autobiography entitled “Con Los Pies Sobre La Tierra” (With Your Feet on Earth), which instantly became a bestseller.
As the 2014 spokesperson for L’Oreal Paris, she launched her second book, “Tengo 50…y Que?” and has made her mark as a business woman with the launch of her new brand, “GI” by Giselle Blondet including a bedding line and jewelry collection in partnership with Walmart.
She is currently collaborating with Vive Mejor on their #TuTwist web series campaign where they encourage Latina moms to add fun twists to their family dishes.
