Sofia Vergara’s LatinWE Hires Golden Globe Winner for VP of Television
(Beverly Hills, CA – November 30, 2015) Latin World Entertainment (LatinWE), founded by Luis Balaguer and actress Sofia Vergara, has hired Golden Globe Award-winning producer Melissa Gelineau as VP of Television & Development.
“With her unparalleled experience in the industry, Melissa is an invaluable asset to our team. Gelineau was most recently VP of Development for NBCUniversal International TV Production, where she shepherded “The Devil’s Playground,” a six-part miniseries for Foxtel starring Toni Collette, and “Nowhere Boys,” a half-hour children’s adventure series. Both have won an AACTA and a Logie for Best Mini-Series and Best Children’s Series, respectively. The latter has also recently been nominated for a BAFTA.
Prior to NBCUniversal, Gelineau was SVP of Creative Affairs for Mohawk Productions at Warner Bros. She has overseen creative for a variety of series, including “George Lopez,” “Freddie,” “Wanda at Large” and “Cybill,” the latter for which she won a Golden Globe Award. She was also creatively involved in “The Drew Carey Show,” “Norm,” and “Roseanne.”
