Miguel Varoni

(MIAMI, FL – July 11, 2016) After his success in the acclaimed Super Series “Señora Acero”, Miguel Varoni returns to direct Telemundo’s next original production, “La Fan,” alongside Claudio Callao and Otto Rodriguez. The romantic comedy, which started shooting this month, will tell the story of a passionate fan of a famous telenovela actor, who unexpectedly enters her idol’s life.

Aside from his successful acting career, Varoni has also become one of the most popular directors in the Hispanic market. His work directing the first and second season of the Super Series “Señora Acero,” broke ratings records and became one of Telemundo’s most-watched series. He also directed other major hits such as “Santa Diabla,” “Rosa Diamante” and “Sin Senos No Hay Paraíso.” “La Fan is my loving reencounter with comedy. Pedro el Escamoso was the last comedy I did and it was 15 years ago, so directing one after such a long time is very exciting for me,” said Varoni.

Written by Marcela Citterio, “La Fan” marks actress Angelica Vale’s return to telenovelas after ten years. The lead cast also includes renowned actors like Ximena Duque, Jonathan Islas, Scarlet Ortiz, Gabriel Porras and Juan Pablo Espinosa. “In a world where there is so much violence, it is exciting to celebrate comedy and humor,” noted Juan Pablo Espinosa, who is the telenovela’s leading actor.
