JOURNALIST PAMELA SILVA CONDE CONTINUES TO CHANGE LIVES THROUGH EDUCATION (Miami, FL – April 27, 2015) – Pamela Silva Conde, the renowned journalist and host of Univision Network’s “Primer Impacto,” was joined by many celebrities this past Saturday at the 2nd Annual Fundraiser for the “Pamela Silva Conde Scholarship,” which aims to show solidarity with young Hispanics through education. In this very important moment for Pamela, some of her Univision colleagues were present such as Maria Elena Salinas, Jomari Goyso, Roger Borges, Gloria Ordaz and Borja Voces who, among friends and family, also support the scholarship. Since 2013, Pamela works closely with FIU (Florida International University) so that young Latinos, eager to learn and grow professionally, have access to a college education and can make their dreams come true. “I am very happy to see how this initiative continues to grow. I have no words to describe what I feel for all the support that I have received, and we hope to continue to give out more scholarships in the coming years,” Pamela shared with LatinWEnews. She has covered major international news stories for the show, and most recently has guest co-hosted “The View” alongside Barbara Walters. As part of the Univision News team, prior to “Primer Impacto” she was the national correspondent for Univision’s primetime newsmagazine “Aquí y Ahora” (Here and Now), with which she continues collaborating. Previously, Silva Conde anchored the leading Spanish-language morning newscast in South Florida for the Univision Miami local affiliate. Silva Conde joined the news team of Univision’s local Miami station as an entertainment anchor and reporter in 2005 and soon became a substitute news anchor. Prior to joining Univision 23, Silva Conde was the host of TeleFutura 69’s first local newscast, “Noticias en Noventa” (News in 90), a daily segment featuring late-breaking headlines in 90 seconds. A celebrated journalist, in 2006 Silva Conde won her first Emmy award for on-camera work, and in 2007 she received three additional Emmy awards in the writing, news feature and human interest story categories.
