FERNANDO FIORE, THREE-TIME EMMY AWARD-WINNING BROADCASTER, JOINS FOX SPORTS FOR CONCACAF CUP COVERAGE
Television Icon Lends Expertise as Contributor to English-Language Telecast for First Time
(MIAMI, FL – SEPTIEMBRE 30, 2015)- Emmy Award-winning broadcaster Fernando Fiore, who has spent his distinguished career working exclusively on Spanish-language television, makes his English-language debut next month as he joins FOX Sports’ coverage of the CONCACAF Cup, the winner-take-all playoff match between the U.S. Men’s National Team and Mexico for a berth in the prestigious 2017 FIFA Confederations Cup. The announcement was made today by David Neal, Executive Producer, FIFA World Cup on FOX.
The bi-lingual Fiore makes his English-language television debut on Saturday, Oct. 10 as a contributor to FS1’s special 90-minute pregame show kicking off at 8:00 PM ET, live from one of two sets at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena. In addition to his role on FS1, Fiore pulls double-duty, contributing to FOX Deportes’ news magazine show FOX DEPORTES EN VIVO at 7:30 PM ET.

A leading force in Spanish-language television, Fiore’s illustrious career spans more than 26 years, earning him three Emmys. Fiore most recently worked with Univision, handling a wide array of assignments including as a studio host and reporter. During his time with the network, Fiore covered FIFA World Cups, Olympic Games, Copa Libertadores finals, International Championships and multiple high-profile championship boxing bouts. He hosted some of the most recognized programs in Spanish-language television including REPUBLICA DEPORTIVA, Univision’s flagship weekly sports program, TITULARES DEPORTIVOS, EN CALIENTE CON LOS MIAMI HEAT and HOLA AMERICA.
Fiore began his broadcasting career as a reporter for the news magazine program DIA A DIA, then went on to host LENTE LOCO, and later FUERA DE SERIE, which he co-hosted alongside actress Sofia Vergara.
In 2006, Fiore authored his first book “The World Cup: The Ultimate Guide to the Greatest Sports Spectacle in the World,” providing an in-depth look into the history of the FIFA World Cup, its teams and players, which quickly became a huge success.
The epic U.S.-Mexico match airs live in prime time on FS1 on Saturday, Oct. 10 from the Rose Bowl in Pasadena and is also available via the FOX Sports GO app and online at FOXSportsGO.com.
